  • My new project-Carolina Skiff

After the rattlesnake scare last weekend....the wife decided she wanted to pursue redfish from the water instead of the marsh. I found this 1990 18' Carolina Skiff for a good price. Needs some TLC, but should be a solid boat when I finish.

Looks good, Scott! That outboard on there looks like it should move it along pretty well.

Thanks JP....the guy said it would hit a little over 30MPH....I am pretty ignorant on boats, so I have some learning to do...

From what I have seen so far, they are cheap to work on if you are willing to get your hands dirty....for instance, the new gelcoat that I am going to do will only cost about 250 in gelcoat and whatever a mountain of sand paper would run

Nice boats, very stable. Doesn't take much motor to push these along, but they can hold a ton of weight. There used to be an old advertisement Carolina put out that had their ~25 footer with a Ford F150 in it just cruising down the intercoastal...give you any ideas of something you could carry?...

          Hey ES,

I saw that ad and thought the same thing!! This boat is wide...it was like playing Tetris fitting the Hustler and the boat in the garage!
