I know that this is not amphibious , but still I thought it was an impressive peice of workmanship.

        That is very cool!
I am guessing there must be some sort of cab leveling device that actuates the hydraulics for the "legs" to retract and extend.

Who ever build this machine was VERY inovative thats for sure! Think of all the hours of trial and error that it took to build this very unique 4x4. This is " out side of the box " thinking , no doubt about it!

this is a really impressive machine to say the least!

i just poached the following from another site:

            From another site:

"Well, I don’t know about you but I’m baffled beyond belief to see it. Call it whatever you want to but I say this Chainlink 4×4 is frighteningly awesome. We don’t even know who built this and what is the motivation behind, but Cams hydraulic Chain-drive 4×4 has about 7 feet of up or down balancing on each tire. For controlling all that 7 feet climbing and dipping, there is Rube Goldberg gear network: 5.38 gears and centrally-mounted ARB air locker. The specs below engine are fuel injected Ford 5.0 V8 out of a ‘93 cobra mustang, c4 transmission and t-case out of an early bronco. It has swing arms that are hydraulically controlled – individually or together. Large chains run inside the swing arms and the steering is connected through swing arms and the steering box, mounted just below the driver. It is made of steel tubing, weighs 5900 lb and its tires are 39.5″."

8x8 twice as good as 4x4
