Hey Larry, That tube coming off the truck is cheating......When I was a kid, it was 100lb bags, one on each shoulder, 8 miles to the barn, uphill both ways, 3ft of snow....and lions and tigers and bears... well, the 100lb bags is true anyway.

I started there when I was 15 and we handled all kinds of bags then. We sold a lot retail. Now you have to order a truck load. We still handle bags of medications/minerals that get mixed into the feed but we don't sell bag feed anymore. The auger is not cheating. It efficiency.

George, that is a finishing barn and they are in there roughly 120 days. So I cant remember the stage of feed they were on but I would say in less then 50 days, the whole barn will be in the market, lol. If I remember right, I believe there are 1200 pigs in each of those barns. That creates lots of crap, lol.

This truck holds 24 ton. It has 8 3ton compartments. Unloads at about a ton a minute. We have 2 others like that. Our BIG truck will hold 36 tons with 12 3ton compartments. It will also unload at real close to 3 ton a minute. It has 5 axles. 2 are lifts. Next time I drive it and have the camera I need to get a picture/video of that one. Its a monster. We mix and deliver about 350 ton a day. Somedays more then 400t. Its fun stuff. Driving through country roads and delivering to farms. I really enjoy it.

what kind of feed comes out of a tanker truck ?? is it liquified or dry ?? we transport dry feed in bulker trucks and liquify at the feed lot

What could be better than a blessing from your wonderful wife? ,
Having my daughter Lyndsey accompany me.
We plan on arriving thurs eve 6-7pm. I will bring some homemade breakfast sausage and hungarian sausage to throw in the "general food bank" for everyone to enjoy. Robbie,hope that will help w/menu-meal planing. My Hustler is in more pieces now than it was during the spring 2010 outing, so it won't be along for the fun. We'll just have to stick w/ knocking beads off the Argo Looking forward to this ride!!! Joe. and Lyndsey

This is bulk dry feed. It comes out the bottom into an auger which carries it to the back vertical auger which flings it over the the discharge auger. This trailer is made by warren. Hensley Bulk bodies also make a feed trailer and that is who made the 36ton capacity truck. It looks like a tanker though but its not. When I was 18 the CDL instructor even asked about it trying to say I need a tanker license but its dry so I dont. What kind of trucks are the bulker trucks are they what I would call Hopper bottoms? Or the style with the conveyor in bottom?
