Anyone know about old vending machines?

I'm just dominating the chit chat section lately!

I scored this new beer fridge from Lewis yesterday, and repainted it. got it working, but i have a few things i'm trying to figure out.
first it takes 50 cents to dispense a bottle, is there any way to make the coin collector give out freebies? i already bought the beer i'm putting in it, i don't want to pay another 50 C to get it outta the machine! it has a micro switch which i believe to be key, but i have no clue how to set it for FREE DRINKS!!!! also wondering if it's possible to convert this thing to dispense cans? the Last owner thought like me, one slot was pepsi, and the others were all beer

I know absolutely ZILCH about old vending machines, but I'd just like to interject that this is the most awesomest addition to your shop yet to be shown to the general public. I just leaked out about a half gallon of jealousy from my jealousy gland.

the micro switdhes are the key , you need to find the right combo to dispence freebys. believe its all up or all down

I was just on a wild guess guessing all one way or the other. Just note how it is now, and then go for it. There is a diagram on the inside of the fridge door to show how to adjust spacers for different cans/bottles. I'm sure since you're asking it's gone, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out if it is indeed capable of cans (I would think so) You just want it to be a tight pack, not much room for them to move front to back, and the dispensing arms or whatever you call it has a difference in it from the front to the back, so it will dispense only one at a time, even though there are two at the bottom 1/2 of the time. as long as cans fit properly, and the front and back cans line up with the difference, you SHOULD be golden. (When you test it, test with expendable sodas, not beer ) NO idea if I'm making sense, when I had my hobby shop I got a Vending machine from Pepsi. He showed me how to adjust it, but I never did, can't have beer in a hobby shop, of course it was a touch newer that this one.

serves you right... now you know how the rest of us feel (except Larry W {damn Larry W } ) whenever you roll in with big 5 on the "trailor". and to tell the truth there are a lot more old pepsi machines out there than AMTT's so you are still 1 up on the jealousy scale!

i got a little happy with a cutoff wheel today... now it will vend cans i also removed the lock with a diamond drill, now you can open the front with your little finger. did a bunch of digging online, and this particular coin counter can't be set to "free vend" so i set it to 5c. i modified the coin return. now all coins accepted or rejected fall to the coin return. you drop in a nickle, get your beer and your nickle is waiting in the coin return when your ready for another

Awesome! I remember 5c draft nights in college. I say you put a little extension on the "trailor" extension that you already have (hereafter known as the Rokon Patio), and put the new Pepsi Machine on it, and bring it to Busco in April.
No! NO! Put it on an Attex Frame and make a trail pig out of it, so we never run out of beer on the trail eeeeeeeeevvvveeerrrrrrrrr......

I'd be all for either idea, but the thing weighs more than 3 attex together. seriously, Lewis and I both suffered hernias getting it onto the "trailor" and even though i had gravity to take Lewis's place on the other end, unloading was no picnic either. after i got it painted, i had to lay it on it's back on the little "trailor" and use the truckster to pull it into the shop. i could build a trailer for at and see if Lewis would tow it behind the avenger though

Well, if Larry can tell everyone that mudd-ox has new features in the works.......I won't feel bad about leaking his secret. Larry knows where there is another trainer in excellent condition, and rumor has it he is shaking his piggy bank.

So it's safe to say putting it in an Attex shell as a tow and the pig won't "Flots" they say?
