Anybody Live in Alaska??

I was wondering if anyone from here lives there? I am wanting to move there within the next year or so. ANd I know Im not a usual poster here but I lurk lol. And I didnt know where else I could go with my question, and Im hoping someone from here can help.

Anyway, I am a certified welder by trade but I dont know how to go about looking for a job and where to look. Or by what town I should look for. Does anyone have any suggestions? And what should I expect? I know cold weather and snow...but I kinda like it lol. Anything that you can tell me about making this kind of move would be greatly appreciated!!! I know this is way off topic for this forum.

Dunno about the work part, but Alaska Outdoors Forums is a good forum for what you can do in your off-time, as far as recreation. Some Argo chat too.
