Wow, Eddie.... That's a bunch of Hustlers!

I'd love to take a 950 project off of your hands if you weren't so far away. Do you have a spare pair of center sprocket tubes from a 950 by chance? I'd like to see how the 980 responds to a more reasonable gearing change.

I have the 18 Horse Briggs flat-twin. The 980 is currently geared for about 10mph bouncing off its 3600 rpm redline. I don't need it to fly, but man, 18mph sure sounds good.

The 980s use a stock 50 tooth (I think it's 50...52 perhaps) sprocket. It's half the size of a frisbee. I'm just basically looking for anything lower than that. Somewhere in the 36 range would be good for the first sprocket after the T-20. This will bring me down close to a stock Max IV gearing, which has plenty of low-end grunt and plenty of top-speed. I'll have to check what the secondary sprockets are, but I'm thinking they're in the realm of 22. I'll have to check and get back with you.

I can always just cut the big sprockets off and replace them with something smaller, but if a good set is already out there, it would save me from making a commitment to sticking with them, or having to make up a whole other set.

              Thanks,

Eddie, in the event that you have 2 sets (or Hydromike gets on your nerves and you don't want to deal with him ) I'm also looking for a set of center sprockets for the same reason.

You two guys are just like brothers, but why does it always come to this? I believe i have heard that phrase somewhere on the site.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                            Thanks Eddie,

While the Jet Pumps are a cool novelty, I'm never in water that much to require one, and I'd probably end up gumming the whole thing up and ripping it out of the bottom of the machine on a rock or a log.

You don't have to do it especially for me, but is there an easy way that you can give a little run down on the characteristics of each of the machines you're looking to sell, and what price you might be asking? I see that you have a lot of the brown poly machines in various states, but I (and probably other folks) would show more interest if our appetites were whetted with details. 'Still $ucks that you're 14 hours away, though.

Race and I have decided that we will thumb wrestle for the first available pair of sprocket tubes. I plan on kicking him in the shins at the onset, which assures me a decided victory.

Not if I kick you in the junk first
