  • Hardware...Nuts and Bolts

My normal method for purchasing nuts and bolts for projects is to go to Tractor Supply and buy handfuls of nuts, bolts and washers. The price is reasonable and they have a good selection.
I'm building a deck at home and the codes require galvanized bolts that are not sold at TSC. The local stores are asking $2.40 for a 1/2 x7 carriage bolt. www.boltdepot.com is asking $0.80 each for them. They have a great selection and the prices with shipping are much less than buying locally.
I paid $53.00 for 16 bolts nuts and washers at the local hardware store. For $56.00 at boltdepot, I bought 35 bolts,50 nuts and 100 washers delivered to my door.

Thats great Lance but right now I am building a new shop not a deck. That comes next year. What I really want to see is more pictures of that structure you were building last year. Hint ,hint.
Thanks for the heads up on the hardware.

You have to be careful of the new wolmanized lumber. They used to use arsenic to peserve it, now they use something much more corrosive. The fasteners you are supposed to use are tripple galvanized or stainless steel.
