Weird, when I was but a youngin I use to sit at my Granpappys cottage going thru all his popular mechanics mags, this was in the mid sixty,s and use to see adds for struck mini dozer,as well as other things that were built by that company they were kinda the Ron Popeil of mechanical objects and it fascinated me.As well there was always a section for the sportsman and you name it was there including six wheelers, neat project Wagzs you must keep your neighbors amused its like having the 5th mechanized unit livin next door.LOL Best of the season too you and family, and a happy Attex new year.Cheers N.C.T

LOL, you nailed it by saying my neighbors are amused..they ALWAYS ask me what im working on next. lol the neighbor 2 doors down has a plethora of small engines and parts, and he knows when i pull in, i'm up to no good! lol when ppl come to my garage they usually spend hours asking and talking about all the vintage stuff i own. they ask why i gather up old stuff and use it versus new stuff... its simple.. First off the vintage stuff is usually cheaper to be had, Second, all the older stuff is made outta REAL metal, and doesnt break down all the time. lol This new stuff is junk, and packed full of electronic gadgets and gizmos..just more crap to put the basic back yard mechanic, outta business! luckily i got a good bit of electrical sense, and alot of mechanical sense, usually i can fix anything....

if its junk, and cant be fixed..bring it to me..ill get it running..thats what Everyone around here does! lol

I love the old stuff too. Why buy new when you can get something older, better buillt, and already depreciated. Most toys I buy have already been worth the least amount of money they willl ever be worth. That means my stuff only goes up in value. More of an investment than an expense, and more fun that the stock market, just a little harder too convince my wife that a collection of old stuff with engines is just part of our nest egg like the old 401k.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

it's a very nice project. I'm keeping a set of argo plastic tracks here just so I can put them on a 1968 Massey fergusson garden tractor I have in the back of the shop. it got a 4 speed manual tranny so I would just have to add steering brakes.

Added 6 new pictures. Its together, however it is far from done. i took it for a little ride tonight. lol Works way better than it did before i re-did everything. the stack is temporary. it vibrates way to much. it would need a brace to steady it, and if i did that, man it'd look un-godly ugly! lol but ill post more pics as i go!

It's looking grate, I collect the MT1800's and the MT2000's. You got a grate deal, it's hard to find the attachment's with them. it took me 2 years be for i found the backhoe for my MT1816 with loader. if you get board I could use one of my machines striped down and repainted.

it my be? I do have a set of old tracks of my MT1816 that the pads are still good, the chain is CA550 and the pad's are just welded on. when i rebuilt my undercarriage i went and ordered new track's from struck, the new tracks they sell have pads welded on every other link. I will dig out my old tracks and see what condition there in, i know the chains wear worn out.

this one needs to be striped and repainted then new decals put on. By the way I have seen your model with a diesel from china in them, makes them look and sound better.

Yup, CA550 chain! with dual attachment lugs on each link is what mine takes. 600 bucks for enough new chain to do both sides....YIKES!! mine has grouser pads every link, i see like you said, yours are every other pad. I assume they must have taken care of the "Breaking the chain" issue they had when rocks got lodged between drive/idle sprockets. alot of guys on the forums we're talking about this issue. i kinda wandered about the "every other link" idea to kinda help stuff fall out before it got stuck between chain and sprocket but i can also see it working vise versa. lol anyhow, get ahold of me freq! you can email me at mustangwagz@yahoo.com ill shoot ya my phone number from there!
