      Its a tough market out there lads,the outdoor power products are taking it on the chin in this economy,and all the Sabre rattling from the major oil company's about stupid priced gas this summer is steamrolling any flicker of strength that has shown up.Sad to see them fellas go down but most of us know that the cost of food and fuel have increased drastically,and going out and dropping 15 K on a new Argo is out of reach for a big percentage,and those that can are thinking twice.NCT

        best investment : get a cottage or trailer south of the border;

        IT'S A £u(king lot cheaper down in the US.

        I paid 4000$ for a nice mobile home on a campground. The initial investment was paid by selling our vintage fiberglass camping trailer and the 1300$ annual fees are easily recuperated on groceries, gasoline, discouted shipping on anything bought online and shipped within US..... and being there 48 hours allow us to bring back 400$ per person tax free (groceries are NOT taxable)

        So over the years, I got a 3K$ kubota tractor down there, a VERY nice 1600$ slide-in camper for the Toyota truck (resold 4200$ 3 days later), a 4k$ 2008 Max IV and various other large things worth a lot more on our side of the border.

        but all of this is off topic.

            right now it's more than just "encouraging local business". it's more like accepting to bend over and take it where the sun don't shine.

            Milk is 2.89$ a gallon while we pay 5.99$ for 4L... so it's EXACTLY twice as much for the same product.
            Coffee is the same, it's 5.99$ for 960 grams at Aldi in the US, 12$ here with the dollar at par.
            Shop at ALDI for low prices on quality groceries. Online grocery shopping for pickup and delivery made easy.

            So yes, we do groceries while at the campground and bring it back with us.

            The argo parts MADE IN CANADA are less expensive in the US, same for cars made in Ontario but resold in the US, Bombardier sleds made in Quebec... and the list goes on.

            then add the phuquin high canadian sales taxes we pay with money that has already been cut by higher income taxes.

            Anyway, I started my own business so I get the sales taxes back, declare a ridiculously low income and deduct everything computer, mechanical or tool related on the company.

              Smog most of us as Canadians just go along hoping things will get better or there has to be somebody out there watching out for us,facts are facts you have to take your financial future in your own hands,and there are things you can do for yourself to make a difference,thanks for pointing the obvious out (we are being Scr****) NCT

                Yes Argo of London is "Out of Business", and that's a shame because Cam was good for Argo and great for promoting our sport. Loyalty is a quality that you don't see much anymore, and Cam was LOYAL to ODG, but they were not very loyal to him, (in my opinion). For those who don't know Cam he was one of the very few full time Argo dealers, it wasn't a side line, he had invested $100,000's in his property and business. The straw that broke the camels back was he losing sales to the more than 7 DEALERS in his area, all of whom are "part-time", most don't carry much of a part inventory or do service. He proposed a plan to ODG to reduce that number, but they said NO. I think they thought "well we will sell the same number of Argo's in the area with or without him"...... So much for LOYALTY.

                        Years ago we had a full time dealer close to us,he was a real great guy that had a great facility and room to try product he was in the Argo business for alot of years and took real good care of his customers,every deal I ever had with him was good,back at that time if there was a internet I never heard of it and sites like Kijiji and Craigslist,they were not invented yet the big thing was the Bike,Boat and RV trader in which he advertised at very competitive pricing and did well,O.D.G contacted him and said he had to stop advertising out of his area,he did not and they pulled his long time dealership.It appears as Argo has no clear policy on their own conduct with their dealers,sell product no matter what shame on you ODG.NCT

                          It most surely does appear that ODG has NO clear policy.Cam was a full time, work hard try every new idea type of guy and if ODG let him go ,they need to figure out what their policies are and quick. Personally I am pi--ed.
