I about died when I saw it. When we were leaving with our freshly obtained Javelin dash, I asked the owner about it. I'll always remember the look he gave me for about 10 solid seconds without saying a word, before finally arriving at "It's not for sale".

I knew it wasn't for sale, but even at that age I felt the need to call people on stuff. The thing was so hot you could see the glow for miles.
Not positive exactly which car you are talking about mike, one of my first cars was a 1966 Cyclone 390 4 bbl auto console shift, loved that car looked a little bit like a GTO of the time, shortly after that I inherited my uncle,s 1965 Falcon coupe 289,271 hp 4 gear,Detroit locker, coupe that he ordered and bought out of a Hamilton Ontario ford dealer,at the time my uncle was into street racing but a unplanned fatherhood put him on a different path,I started my life as a apprentice mechanic at Ford dealerships and in the mid seventy,s muscle cars were being dumped the market had changed mostly due to oil company's pulling the same s### as they are today(scare tactics)so I was able to purchase my last true muscle car a 1968 428 CJ Pony car, shaker with the venighetion blinds(however you spell it),at that time a guy I new was piloting a hemi runner,I would never admit it at the time but that car gave me wood it was awesome what a sound,my ride was no slouch but that runner was huge on the top stuffed in the big hole,I kept my status by being geared tight he was geared long but truth be known that Hemi would disappear on the big road, sorry to ramble this thread brings back memory's of that cliche (glory days) N.C.T

My 1990 thunderbird sc is a 3.8 supercharged with 210 hp. Its fast....really fast...pins you to the seat. 4 wheel discs and independant suspension with stability control that stiffens the suspension so it handles like its on rails.... but i think the gn would give it a good run.
My mustang 351c would beat both on a straight road in a 1/4 mile.
I hear the t tops on a gn allow the body to twist and collectors try to avoid them.
Lots of people creating gn clones too.

ha! there was a guy I went to high school with that got one of those turbo t-birds about the same time I got my GN and man that was a fun race, he got me off the line, but once my turbo spooled up, I caught him pretty quickly...but i'll tell ya, I had my doubts, that thing was quick, I still dont know how I beat him! I traded him for a run just to see how each felt and I really liked how snappy that t bird was. It was alot of fun to drive!

Your right, the t-top turbo regals and GN's would flex alot. If you come across one with the t-tops look between the window glass and the quarter glass about an inch below the transition to the roof line and you'll see a slight crack in the paint from the flexing. Id love to have t top car, but only if it had the aftermarket frame bracing to stiffin it up
