  • percentage of riding 6x6/8x8 vs quads/other machines

I know that I am not the only member with a AATV and also own a quad. I would now rather ride my AATV over my quad (however there are times for the quad). Just wondering from other what their percentage of riding machines are????? I ride my quad very little now...usually only use it for plowing snow in the winterand that has not been much here lately...Ride it so little that I am not thinking about getting rid of the quad. Any input from others.

I would keep it............you would no sooner sell it then you would be wishing you had it. I personally would like to have 2 aatv's.

      Azz,

I already have 2 AATVs so that is part of the reason about thinking about selling the quad...

I got a quad for my kid to use. Once my gotcha is done the qaud is going away. Why keep something that doesn't float and isn't uniquely cool.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Quads float, upside-down, hahahaha. None of those for me, thank you very much. I have a collection of bikes, sport, dirt, etc, but for the REAL off road riding AATVs are the only thing that will cut it for me.

I have 2-4 wheelers and 2-6x6.I live in the foot hills of the appalachian mountains,The terrain here is very rough and hilly so the 4 wheeler works better.South of where i live is flatter and more wet area's which is better for the 6x6.I ride the machine that works the best in the area that i am riding. If there was a perfect all terrain vehicle there would be no need for all the other cool machines.Maybe some day someone will invent it.

Drove some pretty cool machines when I was in the army....APC, Jeeps, M109 How, tank, etc...Took the APC swimming once....did not really trust it that much....Canadian army equipment in the early 90`s was something to be desired....Did like flying in the helicopter when I was with special forces...love the contour flying in them...the pilots were the best...they are just a "little" out of my price range now.....ha ha

I had a quad once. My boss's kid had Banshee that he couldn't get running and just wanted gone. I had no knowledge of quads but I figured that as long as it was a two-stroke I'd take it off their hands. When I did get it running: Oh, My! I could not believe the acceleration. I sold that one to Gus and last I knew, he still had two of them. If I ever did get another quad, it would have to be another Banshee.

                      (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

get a honda big red 3 wheeler with the 25 12/13 9's put about 15 lbs in each tire... they float.. ive done it.....
If it don't have 6 wheels and floats.. isn't any good to me. Have you ever tried floating a 4 wheeler across a pond... Doesn't work very well does it?

I have 4) 2 wheelers,2) 4 wheelers and 3) 6 wheelers. They all have their special little nitches. Ohio camp is a lot of "roads",2 wheelers pretty much stay there and the larger machines are somewhat restricted. PA. camp is largely undeveloped land,4 and 6 wheelers there,6x6's to skid logs to areas where they are easier cut up,quads to get around with various trailers to pick up the pieces. Most fun riding done in the 6's but every once in a while I like to rest my kidneys on something suspended (lol, when I hit the lotto I'll be purchasing some springer kits for sure). For outings like Ledges,Busco, etc, wouldn't consider anything except an amphib. One of my favorite things is bringing a machine back totally covered in mud and still have to look a little to find some on my clothes. I ride with a group of quads periodicly (at Pine Lake) and about one hour into the ride those guy's are COVERED in mud and are beginning to glare enviously at my ride.

I got my sons 3 wheelers in a trade both made the same day in 1984 one had been ridden the other was not even broken in the factory balloon tires still have the tits on them. My youngest son got the new one but wanted a dirtbike instead so sold it and got a 2006 CRF150f I forgot how fun 3 wheelers are until I got these both were 200S

I have a couple of each, there is no denighing that they each have their place.
Riding up old roads and trails to abandoned minesites in the Rocky Mtns, crossing fast rivers and big rocky terrain is just not suited to AATV's around here. On the other hand, nothing goes through the Muskeg and Swamps like an Argo, ect.
