Bring it anyway. The rules say "guards in the cockpit area" so we'll figure something out. You're fast...faster than you should be and I want Geojem to try harder to keep up with you on the straightaway. Even if it boils down to a mutiny, we'll figure something out.

Cut one of these cheap plastic barrels up and place over the chains. Was cheap, easy and fairly strong for me.

Do racers not have floorboards covering the chains (to save weight maybe) or is this something else required under the floorboards?

Hey Scott; This is all I found for chain guards in the rules for 2016:

H. Chain Guards
1. All vehicles are required to have chain guards in the driver cockpit area.
2. Chain guards must be adequate to prevent any part of the drivers body from coming into contact with the chains and constructed of a shatter proof material.

Unless someone has overly long arms or can contort into odd shapes, I don't see any part of the driver's body coming into contact with the rear chains when the driver is strapped in. None of my rear chains are guarded. We'll have to see what the TI says when we get there. Dave, were there later conversations on the chain guards that I missed?
