6x6 Racing in Ashtabula, Ohio June 25-26 2011

We should be rolling in on Friday around noon or so... There's this travel plaza just outside of Erie that has the world's best rest-stop Cappucino machine that I've been stopping by for years, so I'll have to grab one around 10:00 to check my tie-downs, etc. The three racers are coming with us, along with our Ashtabula Cheeseburger Maker. I'll be hard pressed to find a good solid 4"x4" axle straightener lying around before Friday, but I'll throw the floor jack and a length of chain on the trailer for you just in case.

No, really: the cappucino is that good.

scratch most of what I said before I thought it would be a good idea to make sure the " racer cam" was lined up, so I went for one last test run. wrapped her around a tree with the RR. Time to change an axle, rim and tire I only get one shot at tearing the machine up while I'm in Ashtabula, so I might as well do it at home right???

If the cappuchino is that good, grab a few extra and leave em in the truck for me. I will need them Sunday morning

It's about 0:48 when I smack the tree. I've gotten used to the slow turn in of the Pimpfoot and the tank and wasn't expecting the racer to respond for at least 3 seconds after I gave the command... that's what I get for driving it 3 times a year

I think I better use last week's test drive as my last test drive....just to be safe.

I picked up two gallons of CAM2 last night....that's cappucino for the Apache.

Just took the racer for a full speed blast down the main road to town and back. she is ready to load up. we will be coming bare bones, so any tools and cheeseburgers that are thrown our way will be much appreciated

I will be bringing most of the tools i have as well as a bunch of undrilled spare axles with a machine shop not too far away that i can use, so you should be covered there. Also planning on bringing the cappucino maker with me, white chocolote carmel and maybe a few other flavors upon request. Trust me its better than any truck stop made crap. I figure i'm as local as anyone so Ill make sure to bring plenty of snacks, hot dogs, pancake mix, eggs, and bacon and return some of the hospitality you north carolina folks showed me.

I was just thinking about the cast today much better situation this year. only a few days to go and no broken bones yet (knocking on wood).

Like I said, my fault for thinking the racer would need any response time. I've been lulled to sleep driving the big pigs for the last few months and didn't have my head in the game. reality has been checked and I'm ready to go. 25 minutes of work after Wyatt goes to bed and the racer will be ready again too

Hey Bridget! Hopefully no Fuel System Problems this year. Made some changes to my machine. Fuel System changes: 1 Gallon Fuel Cell with dual fuel filters. Clutch Shield and Roll Bars. I'll try and stay right behind them! We might be the only one's in the over 50?

Fantastic, Joe! Two fuel filters, ay? Seems like a pretty innocuous way to hide a nitrous injection system, to me.

New bars, clutch guard, twin filters <wink> ; you'll be fearless out there. Only a few days more to go!

Does anyone going have the tap needed to convert a Mikuni carb to receive an RI throttle cabel.

Swift told me what size drill and tap set needed but I'll be darned if I can find it in my messages.

Thanks a bunch Mike!!! New high-performance pistons (+.020), bigger carb...I should do a little better this year!
