  • Cumberland Mountains / Royal Blue, Tennessee

Have any of you ever been to the Cumberland Mountains / Royal Blue in Pioneer, TN? Here is a link to one trail head campground with a little information RideRoyalBlue.com ATV Guest Resort and Campground - Home but their map link is broken so you can't see the trails. It says there are about 300,000 acres and 430 miles of trails.

I saw a few videos posted on youtube today of the trails and the ones shown looked perfect for our amphibs but you never know. That could be the one muddy spot and the rest of the trails are rocks.

Just seeing if any of you have been there and if so how was it? Where do you recommend staying, and is there a map somewhere else of the trails?

    Thanks!

I watched about 15 videos on youtube about this place.Awesome,Alot of mud. There are 2 other huge atv parks in the same area,Brimstone recreational and Coal creek at wind rock park.Alot of my friends have been to coal creek and they say it is an awesome place but a rough ride.We where planning on going to coal creek hopefully before christmas.I think royal blue would be more suitable for 6 wheelers from what i have seen on the videos.I will post when we are going and get some video.

      Mike,

I have ridden Coal Creek (Oliver Springs, TN) which is South of Royal Blue. It is a spectacular area nestled in the Cumberland Mountains with Clear Streams, great views and steep climbs. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of Mud, (there is some) and the riding is mostly packed trails atop limestone, but the scenery is A+. Royal Blue might be a little different, as it is farther North, but still in the Cumberland Mountains. We could always give them a call and find out. If folks decide ride there count me in!!

      All the best,
      Chris

Thanks for the input. The scenery did look awesome. This may be a good area for a group ride so that some of you members in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, and West Virginia can join us more easily.

Edit: Meinfield, I was looking at pictures on the Coal Creek site and there is a Max shown in the last photo: windrock It looks like the same one I saw in the videos from Royal Blue.
