  • anyone live close to fredericktown,OH?

Hey everyone! I just talked to a guy at country atv, and asked him if they had a winch plate for a Max II. he said no, but they have been hearing alot of requests for MaxII stuff, but dont have a MaxII to look at to design accessories for. He said they are currently looking for someone close by that would rent them his or her MaxII so they can do some measuring and fabrications....anyone live close to this place and would like to let them borrow your machine? instead of rent I would say give me free accessories haha! I liked what I saw for the Max IV on their site, prices looked really reasonable

I don't live near there but found the site the other night when looking for snow plow mounts for my Max IV. The prices seem very reasonable, and it looks like nice stuff!

Gotta say it certainly is nice to see an outfit offering accessories for our machines besides R6x6/RC. Pricing does seem very reasonable for what they sell, provided the stuff is robust enough to hold up for several years and not fall apart after just a season or two. That snow plow unit is tempting... if I hadn't just thrown down for a snowthrower for my Grasshopper. Hmmm... cost is quite a bit lessr than the set-up from R.I., but is it as durable???

So, has anyone here bought anything from these guys???

          Dirty Harry,
Yes, I have been using their snow plow for the last month and it works great. It's lighter in weight than the factory plow but that seems to be an advantage. No problem pushing snow or gravel at all. My wish is they would design a lever or something to swing the blade angle from the seat, but for the price, you can't beat it.
The rear cargo basket is definately heavy duty and will haul more weight than the body flanges can stand up to. I'm 240 lbs and stood up on it. It didn't give at all.
I replaced the factory winch mount on my MaxIV with their design as it is MUCH stronger and easier on the plastic nose of the machine.

              Hi Mustang,
No, I don't have the kind of money to run that operation! I'm just the lucky guy who happened to live closeby and they used my Max IV as the prototype for their stuff. The photos and videos are using my machine. That was part of the prototyping agreement: I paid for the material costs, they designed and built the products to fit it and got the use of my max to photograph and video.
              Just like winning the lottery!

Sounds like you got a VERY good deal out of your negotiations. I'm glad to hear that the stuff they make seems sturdy, well-made and not just flimsy junk, ala Made in China. Any more products for the Max IV on the horizon, or is that all they're doing for now? Once again though, very cool to see someone else offering aftermarket goodies for our rigs!

                  Hi Dirty Harry,
I believe what they have currently is it for the Max IV series. I think alot of it will dependant on how their sales go. If they sell at a decent rate, they will expand the line to Max II, Argo and others.
Let them know what you are interested in and if enough amphib owners call or e-mail them, they will keep this moving. They have a reputation for OVER-building their products and I see many of their trailers around here over 20 years old being used.

I'm about 3 hours north of them. If they would do up a full set of options, (and give me the first-off pieces, like they did for Slim's Max IV), I'd consider coughing up the raw material costs and letting them use my '96 Max II as a sample rig to take measurements off of. My cousin is using it now for ice fishing, so I'd have to wait until spring rolls around.
