Hey Roy....great video!! Really makes me miss that machine, but glad you are getting out and enjoying it. Love the strait away shots. I never really ran it much after installing the dual carbs and taller drive gears, what kind of RPM's are you running at those high speeds? I only opened it up one time with and it had the factory single barrel carburetor and lower gearing. It hit 7.5K (not recommended) at 52mph.
Don't forget to adjust the valves every 25 hours or so. The roller rockers are set a little tighter than factory; i will see if I can dig up the specs. Also, when you get bigger tires you might want to go back to lower gearing. If you do, I have the other two larger drive gears. Pretty easy to change out with whippers axles.

    Keep the video's coming...

Thanks Cris.It should run those speeds at 6000rpm but i haven't gps it yet.I have had a friend on a can am clock it at 38mph at around 4000rpms.In the video i ran it up to around 5000rpms a few times but i couldn't keep my hat on my head.lol.Where i was riding is alot of pavement so i could run it faster than on hard pack dirt it gets scary.I haven't run it over 5500rpm and that is in short spurts. The specs for the valves would help alot.

38mph at 4000, that's about perfect. Very cool....glad you are enjoying it. Might want to carry a spare hat
I will did up those specs, and I couldn't find that extra throttle cable, it might have gotten throw out.

        Best,
        C

Holy crap! I could see you re-geared it from the pictures but 38 or faster in the taller tub without a roll cage. Forget the spare hat, carry an extra life insurance policy.

I must be getting old, I enjoy the 980 IC most for its low gearing and ability to crawl around. Sort of why I figured they built it.

Be safe and maybe wear a helmet at those speeds, Keith.

I probably ran it up to about 45mph a few times in the video but at short bursts.I started out drag racing a mini dragster at 4 years old and raced dirt bikes in my teen years so i still have a need for speed.lol.Your not getting old you just like riding slow.Nothing wrong with that.

The engine, gearing and clutch set up give you lots of low end torque; you can crawl around at very low speeds much better than the factory set up. The power and speed is there only if you need it...but it does need a roll bar and seat belts, though.

I enjoyed both the audio and the video. The sounds of that machine are absolutely awesome! You must have scared every quad rider within a 20 mile radius. That has to be the best sounding 6x6 I have heard to date.

Thanks Dan,I have to give all the credit to cris[meinfield] for building this beast of a machine. That was the quiet exhaust in the videos but i think it sounds better than the other header that was on it to start with.I need to get up with you Georgia guys for a ride soon.
