anyone in PA get their new 2015 permits yet? lets get a ride together

  • #2
We go to the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area , in coal township , Pa 17866. They have marked trails , water, nice safe parking lot and you can ride anything and don't have to look over your shoulder all day. Our machines cost 25 bucks for the day or buy a year membership for 125.00 and you could get to the Reading Anthracite area from there if you had enough time and wanted too. Only once, country cummins, car guy and myself have been there several times and had a great time . Anybody up for a spring ride , we can get a ride together up there ?

Looks like around 3 hours. You pay by the day $25.00 or by season pass. We should try to get something together after Busco.

I think tower city is now under the name of Roush Creek and is on the same mountain but run by 2 different organizations . I know HELMETS are needed!!! I don't think there are any permits or registration needed but you can call ahead to find out , I haven't needed to show anything when I went there. We ride in the coal dust most times we ride and don't notice anymore wear than we would have from mud / water .

I remember that you could camp over at TowerCity. We use to go up for the weekend.

That section of Tower City is closed as someone messed with an active machine, all of Tower City was closed off until the Lehigh Valley Club(?) members leased the open part.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Would love to get something together for the first half of this year. Us locals are just starting to get to know the trails ourselves as we have only been there a few times. Its a big place and some of the trails are a bit rocky so we are trying to figure out the best ones for our machines to make for the best riding experience.
