That's my dad w/ my uncle's old springer - I'm trying to figure this out but, it might actually be the last incarnation of that jumping max springer in whipper's photos. will know as soon as I hear back from uncle dave. I hope someone got some video of it running, everyone needs to hear that engine.

I was trying to get your dad to run the springer in the mud bog, but just couldn't talk him into it. Their was video taken of the springer running. It sounded great!!!! Brought back a lot of memories!

        Hi Tech,
I have some video. I'm not feeling quite right (must've been the 21 hour day yesterday). I will try to get it up on Youtube either tonight or within the day or two.
People at the track (a good 250 yards away) were reported to have turned their heads in our direction when you dad fired it up.

Joe, thanks for the great pictures. By the way, that Max with the 24" tires really looks like it has a lot of ground clearance.

George, I'm so glad that you took that video. That was great, especially the very end. I guess we will let you hang around a little longer now

To anybody that was there. How did everything go? Was the ATV playground fun? Did you have some good competitions?

I know that Joe mentioned not seeing everybody that said they would be there but it still looks like you guys had a great turnout and that's great for the hobby.

Well, the attendance was disappointing, but it was a blast none the less. Lots of mud, even more dust, and good people. The CPATVA always does a great job and Saturday was no different. Greg (sorry, I don't remember your last name) and my son Bud tied for first in the Amphib class. Bud didn't let me forget it all the way home. (Dad, I got a trophy...hey, Dad, did you get a trophy?.....Hey Dad, look at this: a trophy!...)

It was cool to see another springer in action. I need one of those badly. I was amazed with the performance of the trackster in the mud bog, too.

Hey George, put up the video of my Tarckster in the mud bog competition.

You know Don, I thought for sure I was going to be a U-Boat Captain, when I hit that mud hole.

Sorry I missed the event. I was there last year and had a great time even though my Scrambler smoked it's clutches. I promise to be there next year. Saturday I made a deal on a newer truck to tow my ATV's. The old Ford 92 IDI is starting to get drafty. its amazing once it starts to rust out how fast the metal disappears. The springer video is terrific, The sound alone bring back memories of my 295 Kawa in my Scrambler with the tuner. Hell I think I still have pipe in the basement.

Thanks George - the last time I saw that machine run was 13 years ago!

maybe if I can buy my dad and uncle some parts to get their other stock racers running, i'll fly home next year to race. until then, I'll just ride w/ people like Whipper in the desert

And here's a video of Joe's Trackster doing the mud bog. As Don said, it's an impressive machine.

Seeing the video of my Trackster; I see I need to cut the oil back. It calls for 50:1. 5 gal gas to 13 ounces of oil. I used 8 ounces. Watching the video I know now why I didn't have full power.

That old 6x6 springer is still an impressive amphib, even now I,d say. I liked watching the video of it in acion. Does it float and swim like todays amphibs for sale.
