  • Big nasty ATV Park Effingham County Georgia

Hey everyone, they opened a new ATV park about 20 miles from my home called the Big Nasty, 1600 acres of very challenging trails. I left my max at home and told my Vinson with tracks to get a feel for what this park had to offer. Here's what I found out. Toughest mud trails I have ever seen. It hasn't rained down here for a week so the mud trails were semi dry, wet awful mud, I took my track equipped Vinson down one mud trail and found the trails so difficult that I decided going down the trails alone was not a good idea. If you get a quad with tracks stuck you are really stuck, and your not gonna move without help and walking in this mud was about impossible. I went back to the parking area and rode back out with three other quads. We went to the mud pit and it looked bad, with soft, soft mud with out water. I drove the Vinson through in 4x4 high range and cruised right through. I couldn't believe I make it through this very thick mud that you could not walk through. After that I figured I would try low range and go slower (I am still trying to learn how to drive with tracks) that was a very bad mistake and I was stuck about ten feet in. It took two quads to pull me out. The video shows the mud after I backed up out off the worst mud. If it rains for a week this park would be AATV heaven but as the trails were I was happy that I had bought my track equipped Vinson and left the Max at home. I learned pretty fast that if you keep a track equipped quad moving it is almost impossible to get stuck it the mud. If you slow down, look out. I spent most of my day flying down these awful trails only to look behind me a find there was no one behind me, I would turn around and pull out the other quads behind me and we would be on our way again. Bottom line-if we get a lot of rain this would be the most challenging AATV park I have ever seen and AATV's would probably be the only thing moving down these trails. If you live in the South East or close to Savannah, you might want to give this park a shot. You will enjoy your day!

Looks pretty nasty there Mighty Max. How did the 4-wheeler do? Saw a short clip of it in a pit. Was it stuck or were you just waiting for the rest of the crowd to catch up?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Lewis, that was my second trip through the mud pit, made it through the first time so easy that i slowed down and went through again, going slow didn't work and I got badly stuck. Quad with tracks worked very well in this mud and as long as you keep moving you will not get stuck. I am going to watch the rain and take the max out next time we get a lot of rain. I tried to get video but I spent must of my time pulling out stuck machines.
