Whipper & I watched the videos this morning. You must be very happy with your military trainer, Larry. That thing really scoots in the water & actually seems to run great everywhere it went.
Buggyman, hope all will be O.K. with the Sportster.

At least I'm not still hearing how much it looked like a bobber in the water

I figured you flipped it in the water to scrub the bottom REALLY good.

Ran the motor for 20 minutes or so last night. Had to run a line out of a gas can to do it. It took forever to clean the fuel/ water out of the tank. Drained the t-20. It's ready to go back together tonight.

Anybody know how much alcohol (dry gas) I can put in the gas to get out any water drops that might have been missed?

They may still swamp but will stay above the water line. I have 6 noodles tucked in the sides of my attex. If you think about it 1 noodle can hold a 250 lb person up. Just thought I would throw that out there for all of you that like to go swimming.
I was thinking of filling the sides with the expanding spray foam......same idea though. Hey, great minds think alike!

I did the expanding foam on my first boat and what a mess then another guy I knew told me about the noodles. No mess and you can pull them out if you need to. I hope I never need mine but if i do I'll be safe.

Hey man if you use the expanding foam make sure it has lots of room to expand. i put 3 cans under a whirpool tub once to support the bottom.raised the tub plumbing and all 1 1/2. lesson learned.

I used to rep Great Stuff at Home Depot, and I can tell you there are 3 styles of foam. Not all stores carry all types, but the blue can is door and window foam...It is the only stuff that does not expand with pressure. The red can will put pressure on anything that apposes its expanding and the black can, Big Gap Filler, well says it all. It not only expands with pressure, but it expands much more than the normal stuff.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

You may want to change the fuel filter a few times sfter you do the dry gas deal as it removes the varnish from the tank also.

I finally watched the video of the Sportster tonight- just couldn't bring myself to do it until now. I'm just glad no one was hurt and the machine's okay.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

                      (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

It floated without the noodles/foam, but I really don't intend to do that again...especially when Larry is around with a camera.

I blew the lines out with air, and sucked every drop of contaminated fuel/water out with the shopvac. I did buy 2 new filers, clear ones, but hopefully one will be good enough.

Hey Robbie, don't forget the SS Jolly Roger was at a slight disadvantage due to my cooler tied on the back. And Cap'n. Alex is to be commended for bringing all those little sailors back to port safley! Joe.

Well, the sears lives again....took it for a test run around the neighborhood tonight, all is good.
I filled the t-20 with this fluid, and it performed well.

That wont work. If you read closely, it says for four wheel drive vehicle! lol

Do you notice anything different then the other fluid you had in it or to soon yet?
