Mudbug/Dave and I stayed a couple days after the weekend and explored the park.

Your video turned out really good! I,ve been looking forward to watching it on the forum. The STEEP CREEK BANK that you see Roger climbing up at the beginning of this video does,nt look that steep, but it was scary steep to me! I,d gauge it about 40 degrees in the middle, and 45 degrees at the top! It had tree roots sticking out of the ground at the top ,and I would,nt have tried to climb it in my Mudd-Ox, Max IV or Hustler Bigfoot! Roger climbed this steep creek bank with hardly any run at it.

Wow! Those are some impressive videos of that Hot Rod 8x8 Argo of Rogers. Once again Roger proves that he can climb what everyone else won't attempt! Wow what a climb. I was very impressed with the Mudd Ox going though the thick mud with fallen trees with tires. That is a very impressive machine. That Ox made a very difficult area look very easy. Thanks for the video and the good times Roger. Wish I could have stayed a little longer. Very impressive performance!

I liked the high speed pass down the trail. That motor sounds SO good. I was surprised to hear music at the end of the video though.

In the creek with out much water in, you see me almost getting stuck in the tire rutts I made as I drove forward and backwards trying to change directions. Roger edited out the part where I got stuck. I should have backed up a lot farther, and then slighty counter rotated ,and I probably could have drove out like Roger did. I attribute this to lack of stick time on my Mudd-Ox and also how to use the hydrolics to my best advantage.

Well I had 30 minutes of tape, had to edit out something... what you did see was the Ox climbing 1/2 way up the pile of logs, while my argo simply bumped up against them.

I was surprised to hear music at the end of the video though.

Great video Roger, still love the sound of that engine. I also enjoyed the high speed pass. MB you look happy with your new machine and it looks like it is doing well.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                      Well, that was fun.

Loved it when you opened up on the trail, too, Roger. You probably don't get a chance or have a place to do that very often. I have no doubt that you could have done that hill without the rolling start & with your eyes closed.

Its been posted before on the forum that the Mudd-Ox is built like a brick out house, and it sure is when you look underneath the floorboards. I love the maneuverability of a Hydrolic machine, but when you,re so used to driving a skid steer machine that uses a transmission in it, its a whole different ball game! I got a lot better at maneuvering my Mudd-Ox in the woods through the tight trails on monday than I was on saturday , thats for sure ! For trail riding , the five inch wheel extentions made my Mudd-Ox just a little too wide to enjoy riding through the tight woods trails. When Roger and I took off the tracks and the wheel extentions on my Mudd-Ox , I had a lot more confidence driving through the tight trails than I did the day before. Matt is in the process of making me some two inch wheel extentions , and that,ll be just about right for tracks in the kind of riding that I like to do. I just love Tim,s tracks on my Mudd-Ox! None of the machines with Tim,s tracks on them got stuck at any time the whole weekend.

My argo thanks you all for the kind comments. The engine's 4 years old now, I would like to freshen it up and take it up a notch from it's relativly mild build, but, oh well, the chains stretch enough as it is.. For all you Al Hodge lovers who spend thousands with him.. I'm showing you engine builders what $600 of parts from E.C. can do for an 18 vanguard. Endless hours of labor not included..

Bridget, the hill wasn't that bad, just the biggest one I saw while I was there

Re: the mudd ox. Matt would have taken that hill easily. I bet he would have climbed over the timber in the creek, too, 'cause he would have been aired down a lot more than I could talk Dave into.

I could see that. That's why I said that you could do it with your eyes closed. I've seen you climb stuff 10 times higher than that & as steep. (Without a roll bar)

If you're knowledgeable & you have endless hours to do the labor, anything is possible.
