  • New places to ride in Tennessee?

I ran across a couple of new places to ride yesterday, they are near where i grew up in tennessee.
They are all close to the Big South Fork NRRA in Tenn. and Daniel Boone National Forest in KY,we rode all over those mountains growing up.
Its definitley plenty big enough of an area not to get on the same trail twice in a weekend. 72,000 acres is huge and it seems to be pretty centrally located

Here are the links to their sites

All 3 of these areas are located off I-75 Near the TN-KY line, anyone that has went thru there pulling jellico mountain, thats where it is.

Coal Creek OHV | OHV Trails | Campground | ATV Riding | Adventure | ATV/OHV Sport Events | Off-Road Riding | East Tennessee Mountains | Windrock | OHV | Rock Crawling | Rock Climbing | Mud Bog | Poker Run

I emailed them and he said 6x6's are welcome, and that they have a enough that come to their big ride that they have a class for them in the Drag race and mud bog ect.(that sounds like its right up our alley). I will post the email the mgr. there sent me,or i'll fwd all to mike and see what he thinks, and make sure its ok to post this stuff.
The manager at coal creek said if we wanted to have a group ride there or an event of anykind he would help in anyway he could to promote it.
they have a campground as well its

Windrock Park | Campground | East Tennessee Mountains | OHV Trails | RV Park | Mountain Cabin Rental | Primitive Camping | Windrock | ATV Riding | Off-Road | OHV | Adventure

There are 2 more really big off road parks in the same area.
After doing a little more reading the TWRA actuualy has joined these 2 and one of the guys on the sidexside forum says you can actually ride all 3 if you are willing to run a little pavement and gravel.....but with the size of these places it would take a long time to cover it all.
All together its 163,000acres,there is an ELK viewing area(which is the only place east of the rockies you'll see an elk, which is kinda cool).
Its a state wildlife area so during hunting season they have a few hunts,so you prob would'nt want to plan a ride on the same weekend.
Its a beautiful area, with water falls, rivers, creeks, mountains, old railroad beds(which are like an interstate hwy in the woods,i have ran over 85mph
on it back in the day)(Not in a 6 Wheeler Though,on a 500 Quadracer :-) )so its got pretty much any kind of terrain we would want.
My wife and i are planing to go and take the camper, sportster, and razr and ride it.I have not ridden there since the early 90's so i'm sure its changed some.I will Video some and report back when we go.

Royal Blue is another one its 430+miles of trails www.rideroyalblue.com The fishers ATV TV Show was taped there a few times,so they may have a link to some video....UPDATE they will be there in july as part of his tour this year,so DVR fishers ATV World on outdoor channel and see the area if anyones interested....Its called the "Keepin it real tour" if you go to their site its got a list of all the places they are going, might be somemore new areas.also the outdoor channel website has a page about it if you go there, and to fishers atv world under outdoor
They also have a polaris show thats ok too,There needs to be a 6x6 world show ahghghmmm Mike :-) Theyre not 6x6's but still doing what we love to do....Ride
The royal blue show is on 7-18-2011 it says

Brimstone is 19,000 acres and is about 50 miles from coal creek and royal blue.....basically same mountain chain, just different sides.
Brimstone Recreation - ATV Park in TN - Over 19,196 acres nestled in the remote wilds of Northeast Tennessee and located in the Heart of Appalachia. We have over 300 miles of OHV trails and roads with numerous overlooks and culture exploration points of interest.

It has over 300 miles of trails at brimstone alone
The manager just emailed me back and said 6x6's were welcome there too and he'd love to have us.
He said that if anyone had any questions about Brimestone, just email him at the www.Brimstonerecreation.com link and he'd help in any way he could.....
And if we ever wanted to have a Group ride they would put it on the site and advertise it there and on their partners sites.(May be some good exposure for our sport and site as well)
I'm sure mike that they would link to 6x6world for you doing the same,or however that works.I'll fwd you this email as well.
