Good pics and videos from everyone, keep them coming! I just got my hands on a good video editor and I've been hard at work putting my video together. I'll probably even have to go back and edit our Wyoming ride, this editor really makes an entertaining video. Here's what I put together this evening:
Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

Originally posted by kghills View PostThanks Tim and also Mike. It was actually a very fun time and my mishap was completely due to inexperience with the Argo. I have had the Argo for about a month and before that owned Luke's Max II for about 15 years. The climb was fairly steep and there was a tree root exposed about half way up. While the AquaTorques worked awesome in the mud, rock and dirt, the diameter of the exposed root was such that the lug of the tire would not reach over it to pull me over and I would just slide sideways on the hill. Also my Vanguard does not have the electric fuel pump upgrade so I was having fuel starvation issue on steep grades at low rpm. Now with my Max II I would have let off the throttle and pulled back the sticks just enough to let it roll back to pick another line and ease into the throttle and move upward. I never even touched the handbrake on the Argo and this was a mistake. I should have grabbed the handbrake as soon as I was off power. I let off the throttle and it rolled backwards. I figured I would slowly roll back into the throttle and pick another line but the engine hesitated and I picked up speed backwards, Foolishly I grabbed more throttle and all of the sudden the engine revved, the clutch engaged and over backwards I went, upside down into the creek. I was sort of trapped and couldn't breath but Mike and the others lifted it enough so I could escape. A rock hit the hood so hard it actually collapsed the air cleaner, I guess what I lack in intelligence I make up for with enthusiasm. All I really suffered was some bruised ribs and thank God Jason was riding with Mike not me.
Everything is fixed and straightened on the Argo. Even I am hard pressed to find the scuffs. I was planning on pulling the brushguard, hand rails, seat frame and handle bars and having them powdercoated and replacing the hardware with stainless steel fasteners anyways.
Maybe the forums Mike can help you post the video with no sound. Since I am OK it is probably OK to show people so they might learn from my mistake. Maybe just include this explanation as to what I did.
Keith.
guys, please dont try this at home (or ride in these kinds of areas alone)....and little boys and girls, PLEASE dont show this video to your Moms...

What is interesting to me is that it landed upside down in the creek so it must have been air borne for about 15ft before it landed square in the center of the creek below. It also appears I reached for the brake but I never used it. Silly, lucky me.
