Stupid empire state. This is a little closer for me than your place, but the real question is, did we finally find someplace that's not 5 hours from Don?

"If your gonna be dumb, you better be Tough!"
"I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I'm now capable of doing practically anything with virtually nothing...."

they dont call me mad because im angry!!!!! im just a little crazy thats all!!!!
It's a full four hours, but it's a great reason to come up and play! I've been having to make the BUF-PGH run a few times in the last month for work, and it's a flat four hours from Lockport to Carnegie..... 79N-90E-290W-990N-263N-78N. That'll get you to within a half mile.
Carnegie is the exit after my work exit in Greentree... look familiar?
Thanks for the great time yesterday Mark. Except for a few minor issues, my machine worked great there, and after a new masterlink and a lock nut, she is all back in order again. Next time I come up I need to find something to slow down my a.d.d. All those cool toys you got still has me spinning.

I have my own problem focusing, if you find something that works let me know.
It was a fun day we had a few machines to drive around and about 8 people down through the day. I brought my video camera but didn't remember to get any footage. Hydromikes Swampfox was pretty impressive, he did a nice build and I am sure it with be smoother when he gets a seat on it. I am not used to having something with all that room for the driver, I felt like I was in a big old Cadillac. He went through some stuff without even bottoming out that was impressive. My machine will drag bottom but the tracks pull it through, and his didn't look like it ever touch the underneath. Amphibious Drew's machine climbed right out of the creek and up a path of frozen rocks which I thought were going to be impossible. We will have to do it again when it fits into the schedule. A shakedown of the machines before Busco is what I am thinking.

Yeah we should do a once over before we go. I may just leave my machine up there after that till Busco. I talked to the wife and she gave me the go ahead. and I talked to my oldest sons mom and he is going to go to her house that weekend. We just need to figure out the days we will be gone so I can put it on my work calender.
Thanks to Mark for letting us play around for the afternoon on Saturday! It was really the very first outing for the 'Fox, and even though it was in a pretty raw form (no seats, no charging system, half-made floor pan, at least ONE loose locking collar, etc...) I was surprised at its maneuverability. Within the first 1000 feet of the ride, I was following Mark and mark m. around the property, and Mark decided to scoot up a short 45 degree slope. The Max IV (on Camoplast tracks) scooted up across the wet tree roots and what looked like railroad ballast. Mind you, I'm fully expecting the 1000lb fox to snap every axle pin, throw every chain adjuster and break an axle trying to follow him (I have faith in my fab skills, but zero faith in Karma....). After about 4 or 5 3000 rpm attempts up the hill, I gave up. BUT NOTHING BROKE! Lots of bouncing, spinning and throwing big chunks of industrial debris, but I think the ground was too loose and the Titans had too much air in them. I'm only running about 2-2.5 psi in them, so I don't know how much better 1psi would do.
JP and I were out a bit later in the day tooling around, and we tried a different short little hill. I made it up after a lot of noise, bouncing around, and a little help from Swifty pushing me off a tree. The red secondary spring really keeps the pig in low gear for a long time (thank goodness...), but I was really pleased how it opens up on the flats. I have no idea how fast it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if she'd turn 25mph.

Gee Mike, the way you talk about my shop your going to hurt my feelings ... industrial debris...... railroad ballast (OK, I don't even have a clue to what railroad ballast even is??)
Believe me, its all in your best interest. I have some virgin wetlands we could have screwed around with. But then the Audubon Society would be on you for the rare flower you broke or those endangered toads your machine turned into paste. Not to mention the DEC showing up because of all that organic soil you displaced with those extremely meaty tires.
It was fun, when your get your drain plugs in and some tow points done, we can hit the creek.
