The weather should be perfect for this weekend's ride. Looking forward to it. I borrowed a trailer for the weekend, so 2 machines are inbound. Just need to do some work on the hustler the next 2 days and finish it up at Busco.

Yeah, it's official!! My Hustler is down for the count and won't make Busco. Thanks Dan for offering your Argo. I most definetely appreciate it. I'm leaving Ga early Thursday morning, so I should arrive at Busco no later than 1400, with my welder in hand, ready to fab up an exhaust for you, well unless my daughter make me stop a million times to use the lady's room,, either way, we'll be there that afternoon. Thanks again Buddy!

Fred, what's wrong with the Hustler? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Do you have something else to ride for the weekend?

          Thanks Brian!!

The right side chain adjusters off the T-20 is shot. I re-welded a new channel in it, but was just a few degrees off center and it didnt' work, but made everything worst. I already cut out the old adjusters and will be looking to get and install the Max IV chain adjusters that are on the center axles. I spoke to Dan67, and he's going to let me borrow his 8x8 argo, I assume, provided I bring my welder and help him fab up an exhaust for his Hustler. I'm kinda at wits-end,,, I have my daughter with me, and promised her a great time riding with great people, and then my machine broke,,,,,, go figure!!!!

If your offering a machine, I do accept, I wont ever turn down a ride, besides, it'll be less stress on Dan's machine, since he's intially offered and has always been so hospitable.

When will you and the "Fam" be arriving? My daughter Jade and I be there Thursday afternoon, with Corys wife, Mel, arriving later that night with the little ones!

Thursday should be a fun day at busco. I have 2 machines that need some fine tuning. Hustler exhaust fab and replace an axle on the argo. The right front hub is bent on the axle. Gonna stop by to see if Ken has a used replacement axle on the way out.

This will be my first time going. Do I need anything other than Helmets for me and my kids? Also, can a simple bike helmet sufice or do I need an actual full mask atv helmet? I am planning on leaving Friday morning and getting there about 8-9am to have in on the fun.

                      Hi SSB,

You won't need a full-face helmet, but I'm pretty sure they're requiring true (DOT approved style) helmets on folks. I see a lot of quad guys running around with skull caps, some with a lot of flair, stickers, and mohawks ans so on. So, I think they have a bit of leniancy as long as it's a real ATV or motorcycle helmet.

I'm still waiting to see the first quad guy with a snorkel on his helmet.

                      • Hydromike, thanks for the info on the helmets. I will have to hurry up and find some helmets for the kids.

                          Good idea...

Just to clarify; their website says "A helmet is required all times you are on ATVs....<snip> ..." . It doesn't specifically say regulation DOT helmets, but I wouldn't push your luck with a bicycle helmets for the kids, only to find out the managment simply isn't being specific enough.

                          ::EDIT::

I won't fight wearing a helmet if they're requiring it; it's their place and their rules. BUT.... loopholes abound:

"If you are on a utility vehicle (razor, rhino, commander, etc.), or a machine containing a roll bar, a helmet is optional."

'See that weasel-word "OR"? You don't get a whole heckuvalot more "utility" than the two tractors I'm bringing this time around. I'll wear my helmet; 'just sayin'.....

                          • Dan! or Lewis! Are one of you def going to see Ken before you head to Busco? I just called and paid for a drive-belt for my Conquest. Could one of you pick up the belt and bring it to Busco? I told them if someone comes in saying they needed a belt that's been paid for and needs to go to Busco, let it ride! Could one of you confirm that my belt can catch a ride with you?? Thanks!!!

When I spoke to the staff about helmets they never clarified about helmet type. I think they do understand that our machines will rarely exceed a slow crawl and it's probably not necessary, but out of fairness to other riders they will require it. (Unless you have a roll bar) So I'm thinking they won't be terribly strict about helmet type on our machines, I really think a biking helmet would suffice.

                            • Got the frame done! Going to bolt the cross bars on so it'll store smaller. Gotta get a coat of paint on her.

Fred, sorry if I mislead. I don't have a spare machine for this one. I'm still trying to get ours ready. Anything I can do for you parts wise, I will be glad to help!
