    "18 hp briggs vangaurd" looking for a motor upgrade or a way to build more hp,would like to be able to utilize high gear more often, and thinking of adding tracks in the future.dont know how big of a motor I can swap in easily, thanks for the input

    The late and great 6X6World member RogerS was the man when it came to hopping up his Argo 8x8. There's some porential for some serious horsepower out of these V-twins. Check out Performance V-Twins

      There is a generac dealer in Iowa that lists on ebay. They have a modified generac engine available with up to 44 hp and 60+pds of torque. They go $1900 or so, but have small engines in the 30hp range for about $1500. These engines have the same foot print as your 18hp so its close to being a bolt down and connect type deal. You will need to clarify whether you have a 1" or 1 &1/8 clutch.

      The exhisting engine could be hopped up for not a bunch of money, so you do have some options. I know RogerS's Argo had plenty of power and a wicked sound as well.
