JLO 297 Rebuild - - cant keep it running - blew a mouse and nest -out the exhaust :)

  • JLO 297 Rebuild - - cant keep it running - blew a mouse and nest -out the exhaust :)

    300 Attex - pulled the engine few months ago- tore it apart - rebuilt with seals and bearings - seals were tore up - Had to make a new engine plate -
    ( 2 months ago ) just getting back to it -
    Engine back in the yellow beast - would not fire up - SOB !!! - okay - carb rebuild - finally she fired up and blew a frikin mouse and nest out - haha - take that u little cheese eatin mofo !! Anyways - I can get it to run on high rev and giving her throttle but - she dies out when I back off throttle - I have messed with low and high needle - but not gettin her tuned in - Any advice on this ol Jlo ? I'm starting to dislike these Tillotson carbs -

    I'd check carb out again...all passages. Wouldn't surprise me if theres a tiny chunk of crap in one of the circuits and that's causing issues. At least that's what usually happens with my carb builds, I think I get them clean, and then as soon as fuel hits them it finds more crap to plug stuff up.....
