  • 440 Fuel Set Up

Can anyone give me a diagram of the fuel lines on a 440? I think I have everything, I'm just not sure where it all goes or how it gets hooked up.

Are you running a traditional float-style carburetor and separate pulse pump on your 440? If so, it's darn simple. A line goes from the fuel tank to the pulse pump (it should be marked with an arrow "in" on the pump fitting), and the "out" arrow goes up to your carburetor. The pulse line that powers the pump will be on the front or back of the pump, which connects to the fitting on your engine's crank case. Use a good, solid hose for this line. If they have any "give" the energy from the crankcase will be spent flexing the line and not pumping fuel.

There are a couple different styles of Mikuni fuel pumps; A rectangular pump and a round pump. The ports are pretty clearly labeled on each... Good luck!
