  • Duromax with Fuel Pump Issue

    Hi everyone. I have one of the GX390 Honda Clone Engines (Duromax 16hp). I recently put a pulse fuel pump on it with a remote tank. It appears that the pump overloads the float needle and fuel comes out the carb overflow. I read where some people take the spring and stretch it and it solves the problem. I tried this, but it did not solve it - maybe I did not stretch it enough or maybe I should just get a new spring. I also heard that some people put a T in the fuel line with a return line back to the tank. My tank does not have a return line port, so I would rather not do this. So my question is: has anyone fixed this issue with just a new spring or stretching the spring, or do I need to put a return fuel line on?

    On sand rails they use an electric fuel pump they also use a fuel pressure regulator I would suggest you put one on and regulate the pressure to what you need no return line. You can find them on Ebay.

      Does it have a return line to the remote tank to relieve extra pressure?? If not that might help/solve the problem, or like chris said a pressure regulator you can dial the pressure down to i think as little as a half pound. We used to use them on all our race cars and I think they were available at local parts stores.

        I run these same engines and a return line is required. I also have had to stretch the float spring.

          hi
          buy the most suitable electric pump low psi 1-3 psi and a minimal flow rate and then if needed a return line . The small electric pumps only draw around 1 amp .
