  • Briggs Vanguard mounting bolt patterns, are they that different?

Today I stopped at a small gas engine equipment shop to see about getting a new 18 HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard for my Max II and was told that I need to know bolt patterns for mounting. Are there really that many different pattern to mount these engines?http://www.6x6world.com/forums/image...er-burnout.gif

What engine do you have in it now. If its a Briggs already then and horizontal straight shaft engine will bolt up. I assume you need one with a 1" shaft. Just buy it off eBay and get the correct governor spring from ri. Did he ask you what it was for, because that's usually a sign that they only know how to look things up on their computers. Especially when you tell them and they go "Der what the heck is that there thing you talkin about again."
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

It has a 14 HP Briggs Vanguard now but I couldn't imagine them changing mount bolt pattern. Guess I could check the Vanguard website for the specs. Thanks

mounting will be the same for at least the 14-20 horse models

As Brian wrote , the14-20 will be the same, the 23 also according to the site I looked at. Should be roughly 7.69 x 4, I'd be interested in the 14 if cheap enough.

          Joe Camel never does that.
