  • fuel issue?

    Hey Guys,

I need some help. I finally got my 1987 Argo running after jumping the solenoid and now I have a fuel issue. This Argo has been sitting for a few years and so there was bad gas in it. I drained the tank, blew out the lines, cleaned out the carb bowl, installed a new filter, and cleaned up the gasket on the fuel pump. My problem is I still can't get the gas to run to the carb. I can get it running by spraying gas into the card but after that nothing. I checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working as I can see it move when I have it running. Does this pump need to be primed? Any other ideas? Any information would help. Thanks.

you got to rebuild the carb and clean it thoroughly.

Plott hound is correct. If I were you I would pull the carburetor off and take a bristle from a wire brush and run through every port / hole in the carb paying special attention to the hole at the bottom of the bowl. Then spray carb cleaner through each one and make sure it comes out somewhere else, letting you know that the port is clear of debris.

I have used a torch tip cleaning kit to clean out tiny orfices. Its a little box with different size tiny rat tail files.
