  • Oil Ratio

What is the mix ratio for a kawi ta440? Someone told me its 20to1 with regular oil. Id like to use synthetic bel-ray oil. Would it be the same?

I would start off with using 20:1

    What year is the Motor?
If it says 20:1 I would stay with that mixture unless you find it is gumming the plugs up too fast. Even if it claims to be better 2 cycle engine oil (Make sure it is 2 cycle engine oil) the repercussions of too lean are far worse then too rich

If you can find an old Kawasaki 440 snowmobile you can take the oil injection off of it an put it on your machine

The engine does not say 20 to 1. Richard Clark told me that. The guy I bought it from told me 45 to 1.

If I were you I would contact Recreatives directly and ask them since they're the manufacturer of the machine. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 I noticed your new avatar.......that looks like a really nice machine!

RI told me today 32 to 1 with high octane gas. Can I just say what a stand up company they are.. They called me back long distance just to let me know the oil ratio on a machine they sold in 1985.. Thats customer service!! There should be more companys like RI.

If they support the older machines they will still make money on parts down the road and you may convince others to buy on of their machines in the near future.

              32:1 is a safe bet.
I do not know of any 2 cycle motor that takes a richer mixture then that made after the late 70’s. Even my chains saws and weed trimmers do not take a richer mixture then 32:1. Had saying that I know the older Jigers to be 16:1 which is the richest mixture I have ever herd of .
