  • Engine Test stand ideas

    Hey guys,

Looking to build an engine test stand to store my spare engines and to also test them safely while out of the machines

Here is my list of ideas

Start with basically a 2 level cart. already has roller wheels for moving around shop.

Bottom is for storing engines and battery.

    top is for testing.

The fuel tank will be mounted on top. will have feed line and drain plug to switch out different fuels (2 or 4 stroke)

    Controls/switch panel

    1. Battery disconnect for all power and emergency cut off
    2. coil power switch will wire this so it can be either positive feed kill or grounding kill
    3. Starter button for engines with electric start
    4. electric fuel pump switch for engines with electric fuel

    Gauges

    1. charging amp gauge
    2. battery voltage
    3. tach
    4. vacume gauge

    Controls

    1.Throttle
    2.Choke

    Any other ideas?

Sounds good. I would just add a Fire Extinguisher to the side of the stand for safety.
