    Kubota 2cyl diesel

    Local farmer retired the diesel engine cause he has problems starting it.

    A Kubota ZB600C-1 as seen in the youtube vid here...same engine not the one I may be getting for a trade

    Now I'm considering this thing seriously to replace a tecumseh HH120

    the gasser only turns 3450 right now, so 200 rpm isn't too bad a loss compared to what power a diesel will provide.

    I'm going through the forum looking at diesel conversions ...

    Look for Don's hustler, think that was what it had in it originally, amphibiousdrew is currenty doing a gotcha with a 2cyl. kubota.

      Got this puppy home and after a starter rebuild and a few little odds n sods it runs. I'm going to diesel purge it and after I do that I'll get on a comp test and oil pressure so I know before swinging a trade if it's worth it.

      Will post a video of the diesel purge and how I do it for anyone interested as I have done this on my 7.3 IDI in my truck and it works nice!

      Can't wait to see what comp and such this has and if good get going on installing it!

            Have decided to go ahead and secure a deal on this engine, now to get my clutch of my 12HP Tecumseh...OMG rust welded on that is...

            Been looking at some tiny turbo's and doing research and on and found this thread

            Just great info on these tiny turbos to be found there. Those Lombardini diesels seem really nice and well IMHO the Kubota with turbo should yield great results.

              Located an IP and injector rebuilder, 50 bucks to do both the injectors and set to pop where I want, he's getting back to me on the IP for the engine, that should be reasonable as well I hope.

              gotta love the simplicity of a diesel!

                K just happened upon a deal on RHB 31 turbo so looking like gonna be force fed diesel woot!

                Tecumseh is now pretty much sold too...hmmm...

                    Ah ha...on another forum regarding kubota engines I learned there is a small cap near the IP on the side of the engine, pop off the cap, turn the screw CCW and that turns up the fuel...

                    Hmm..MORE FUEL for when I get BOOST...hmmm...sounds like win win to me!

                        Yes yes there is....time moves slow when $$$ is low...

                        Got my PTO from engine i(t's nice 3 bolts and the keyed shaft comes off engine)....into my SAR friend Ian, he's got some machines...LOL nice lathe and Milling machine and he'll machine down my PTO from 1 5/16" to 1" for me, build a spacer and I'll be set to install my clutch! We discussed some mods to PTO and he will try and do as I request, which brings clutch closer to engine!

                        Also have plate getting cut for me for engine mount.

                        Now to work a few more details and get IP and injectors to a shop for POP testing and setup. add new glow plugs and a starter.

                        I need to work out details of return line to fuel tank, and a decent fuel filter, for fuel system, remount battery and a few other things but this swap should be quite simple if all measurements are correct. I sure hope so.

                        I'll be posting as I build.
