  • Duro Max engines...

Hello. I came across a Max II that has a Duro Max 16hp engine. It has twenty hours on it.
How do these compare to Brigs&Statton engines? Is it something that would keep
you from buying the aatv, all else being equal?
Are they durable engines? Thank you.

It is much cheaper than a Briggs and is a single cylinder. I know a few people running them, and they seem to really like them. I would consider buying a machine with one in it, but it would have to be at a bargain price compared to buying one with a Briggs. My opinion is cheaper engine = cheaper price.

Thanks. The Max has new tires, new winch, serviced, spared rebuilt T20, two spare
two-stroke engines, custom hard aluminum top/doors, front and top racks.
Round headlights. Year unknown. Price is 3800.00. Or best offer.
Overall, I like the machine and sent an email to the guy asking him many
questions about it, including year and splined or bolt axles.
I have no idea about Duro Max engine engines. So I thought to ask.

My guess is its a converted 2-stroker. Maybe a big max or a 340t. I know you guys seem to pay more up in Alaska than down in the states, but I think you will find this machine is well over priced. The frame is going to be lacking support upgrades, inner bearings will be bushings, and "custom" items don't usually add value to a price like factory options do. The machine minus all the aluminum is a $1200-$1500 machine down here in trail ready condition.

Thanks. I haven't commited to buying. I'm searching for a good machine and this one
was yet another one I seen on craigslist. Research will likely save me money and
            frustration.
