  • Replacement engine

Im looking to replace the engine on my 1968 tt-10 terra tiger. Would an older cast iron black 4 stroke work or would that be to heavy for the particle board/fiberglass body?

Umm, you really didn't provide enough info. I would suggest the harbor freight engine. No need to spend a lot of money on big hp as the drive train won't handle it.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

As Drew mentioned, get a Honda clone engine from Ebay or other places. Light wt. and easy to install! Use a 13 or 16hp electric start model in it. Stock clutches are weak link in them. But they can be made to work with higher HP engines by replacing with heavier springs and different lining material on cone clutch.

They are great little engines for light machines. We run them in attex's. 13 HP (420cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine. If you watch for them to go on sale and use a 20% coupon you can pick them up for around $250 with 2 year no questions asked warrenty. They are also not the hp listed. Go kart sites say with new exhaust, intake and rejetting they are over 16hp.

I agree, got a 13hp on a compressor and 16hp on a gen set, both are just perfect and start just like a Honda. I highly recommend them.

Thanks! I should've provided more info I was thinking like an older cast iron block engine found in the allis garden tractors. I think ill go the clone route, There is a harbor freight in fargo nd which is close to me, I like that I can return the engine there if I have problems, unfortunately its a pull start is there a cover to remove so I could add a starter?

All the big HF clones are electric and pull start.
