I have about 30 hours on my 2000 Conquest - Total Time about 510 hrs now.
It was always cranky to start, and required half choke to run. I figured it just needed a carb clean out - After almost stranding me in -20 weather at night - I decided to clean the carb out. I soaked it in 50/50 Avgas and ATF for a night then tore it apart the next day. I had read on here about changing the gas lines but figured it would be a good spring project - anyway - the attached picture shows what I found inside the carb between the fuel inlet and the float plunger. (beer cap is for scale only)
I cleaned the carb thoroughly and put another fuel filter inline right before the carb. Engine runs great now but lines need to be replaced ASAP.
