engine problem

I just purchased a Max 4 it has 18hp Briggs & Stratton engine I installed new plugs air filter fuel filter and disassembled the carb and cleaned it idles great and starts great the problem is when I pull the throttle the engine dies if I choke it a little it works HELP!

I would empty the fuel tank fill it with high test and a half a bottle of sea foam (walmart). Let her run until she levels out. Bad gas can mess up a carb!

Sounds like something is still in the carb., I'd re clean it.

I would double check everything in the carb. Usually if the choke helps its a carb issue.

also, check to make sure that you have spark in both cylinders

Choking it richens the mixture, thus sounds like you've got a bit of debris in a small port in carb or the adjustment is out if you have an adjustable carb. Bent needle damaged seat?

I'd try n get it to an ultrasonic cleaner and go that route if possible.

THANKS For all your help I checked the spark thats good I have the carb soaking and rebuild kit is coming should be running by the weekend.
