  • cold start hessation

    my 2007 argo with brigs 23 hp has been hessating when I turn the key nothing and turn again battery is full and then like magic try 4 or 5 more times kicks right over.iv checked my conentions and all are clean plus this only happens on cold start ups 20 degrees and below

    Is the starter solenoid clicking? Those things go bad quite often.

      That would be my question: is the solenoid clicking? If it isn't, you may have an intermittent ignition switch.

      I actually think it's the solenoid, and low temps are putting it into a bind from contraction. Watch the ammeter, does it move when you turn the key switch? If it does, and there's no clicking, the solenoid's stuck from the cold. Warm it up with your hands and see if it frees up.

        I had the same problem last year. Bazzoo guy told me to change my starter. I did so. No problem since then. I started it this year at 30 below.
