hello guys just acouple of questions, first off i have a 400st with a 18hp brigs ic twin in my attex. i have a car alternaitor in it and was wondering if i take this out ,i have 2 wires comeing out of the motor,1 to kill it is the other to charge or do i need more wires,i cant find any belt that will work????????????????????????????????

On the Briggs IC twin, there is a terminal on the top near the carb. That is your kill wire. If you trace it back, it goes under a cover under the carb to the points. The other 2 wires you are talking about are probably for charging.

Do I understand your lament about a belt relates to running your alternator?
where is your car alternator mounted?
Mine is run from the fan/rope start pulley......
Hardware stores might be able to order said belt, or, I'd call Grainger, or go online to them, and, they have a great tech dept, that, will help with anything.
Tell them what you're doing, they'll tell you what measurements you need and then get you a belt to fit.
They did exactly that for the compressor project I'm making now.

      good luck,

I don't know where I'm going, but, I'm on my way...........
