In no way do I call myself an engine mechanic , but I am good at asking questions and for help when needed , I have a stock B&S 23HP in a 2007 Argo Frontier. I have had issues with choke not working or working very little when trying to start the engine or seeing little to no effect after the engine is running . I have used Carb' cleaners both in the gas and to see if I can find any leakage ,, all with no effect to getting the choke to work. There is 150 hours on the clock ,that I think is about right , I am upgrading to HD , bearings all around (one side done already) after finding one outside bearing that had started to fail.
The engine runs fine after it starts , a bit to hard in my opinion tho... and seems to run very good , but it does seems to rev a bit high after it has warmed up at idle almost seems to have a creep to it , and I have to work the throttle to bring the revs down so as not to grind the gears when shifting ,, I wonder if I have a jet issue ?
Any Ideas that may be a cause and or what I can look for to try to fix this ? Thanks
