Hey guys bought new predator engine from harbor freight for my max 2 project. I would like to know your opinions on breaking in a new engine. Thanks

I followed the break in process for the 2 I used for attex projects and they are run hard each time and haven't had a single issue.

      HI
If the engine does not come with there procedure I do as follows
Many stationary engines [gas] use a straight 30W oil [mono grade] The trick is to use a 30 w with the least additives .These are written on the bottle as cc,cd etc up to cg
Donot hold engine at prolonged periods of full throttle/high load for the first few hours .
Change oil at 20 hrs then every 50hrs
Wait till at least 100 hrs b4 using synthetic oil
There are other ways to run in an engine also but this is the most generic version for a general use engine

Ps most modern oils donot lubricate that well for an OHV engine . An ohv engine has a flat tappet cam and requires some additional moly to help prevent cam and lifter wear .
