Hi Norm, here is the parts diagram for that engine: Lawn Mower Parts, Small Engine Parts & Much More! | PartsTree.com - Briggs, MTD, Toro, Cub Cadet, Husqvarna, Troy-bilt...

Number 24 is the entire fuel pump, number 31 is the upper fitting in your picture. The fitting is cheap if that is all you need. Should be able to order online or from your local Kohler dealer.

Will it just snap back in? Picture looks like a snap in fitting.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
          Joe Camel never does that.

No Jim, there was a little zip tie type clamp around it that got broken and the actual piece that broke is broken inside. I'll order it today, now that I know what it is. Thanks all... Norm..

We'll I got the trans installed, made some brackets for the top front and back to stop it from moving. Then when I went to install the kohler I realized the bolt holes on the engine stand from the 18 vanguard were wrong so I welded them up and punched new ones, then the stand seemed flimsy so I made some plates that go under it and cross braced the legs. The new belt came in today so it should be just about complete tomorrow... I rebuilt the t20 that I took out of it for the max 2 so I will have both machines complete very soon!! I won't be disabled anymore Jim... Lol. Norm...

Looking good Norm. There is plenty of beefing up to do when you add power to a Max. Newer Maxs have the legs of the engine stand reinforced also. Angled braces welded onto the legs down to the feet to give it more strength where it bolts onto the frame/motor mounts. A large engine could bend those as the engine pulls itself down toward the trans.

Ok I think everything is finally done except for the wiring, the kohler plug has 3 wires on it the briggs had 2? The selonoid is on the starter, the briggs wasn't. Can anyone look at the pics and tell me how to hook it up? I know this should be easy.... Thanx. Norm...

Hey Norm I got you when I get there tonight. the Kohler starter takes two wires ( one red battery, and one green remote/ignition from key wire) then there is one black wire to kill the coils, and another white wire to recharge the battery that comes from the Stator. I can show you it tonight, so dont worry,,, you'll be running in minutes!! looking good though,,, we should have some time to take it for a spin in your creek/river behind your house tonight maybe!!

                      Well was he impressed?
with the new engine, older style clutches it should be far superior to what he had.
