I have an 18 vanguard with exhaust, exhaust restrictors removed, and high performance cam. I just added a 30mm vm mikuni carb with a 35 pilot and 270 main and it's way too rich. What jet sizes has anyone with a similar set used? Or what would y'all suggest?

Sounds like the jet needle is set wrong, the higher ya go on the stem with the clip the less fuel it lets in

I'm all the way at the top. I almost feel like it's only too rich at idle. It cranks up real easy and always blows out black smoke but then rides out fine once it's done. I think I'm gonna order some smaller pilot jets and try them I just didn't know iff anyone had experience with a similar set up. And thank youComment

I run 38's and 40's on my stuff W/stock jets

This is My 16hp runnin' a stock cam & TM 36mm W/accelerator pump, eats all the fuel it gets. either way sounds like You have Your answer
