  • FUEL PUMP

Good Evening all have recently purchased a older Hyrotraxx and the original owner has installed a electric fuel pump on the 27 hp Command Pro Kohler motor bypassing pump that runs of the crank or the valves (not sure),my question is can i put a hose on the two ends of the old fuel pump and just loop them together to keep dust and such out? Right now both ends are open. I hope i have explained it well enough.Thank You Steve

If you have an electric pump that is working, why not just take off the manual stock pump all together? I ran an electric pump straight to the carb on my 16hp Briggs a few years back, with no problem. You just have to make sure that it is a low pressure pump. I bought mine from Napa at $45.

On the other hand, the manual pump is quite inexpensive. I would replace it and run the electric only as a back up or going up steep hills or what-not etc!!!
