  • Kubota 3cyl in an Attex

I was recently given a Kubota water cooled 25HP 3cyl WG750S complete running engine.
I ran it on the bench & it smokes a little. It came from a commecial grasshopper mower.
I was going to rebuild a 16hp Kohler K series for my Attex project, but now that this engine has come along I'd like to use it.
It will fit , but the radiator will have to be moved & cooled by an electric fan.
My biggest concern is that this engine has insert bearings instead of the big Timken roller bearings that most singles& twins have.
Do any of you know if the side loading of the crankshaft by the drive belt will hurt the main bearings in the engine ?
Any other info on this engine would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

i put a 20hp 3 cyl. kubota in a skipper 6 wheeler. great torque, enought torque to break the #40 chains almost on command. # 50 chain should hold up. biggest problem is weight. greg

i'm not sure, i would guess around 175lbs. i took the engine out, its now a 10000 watt generator. i did just pick a kubota z482 2cyl. diesel, that i want to put in a max2. it weighs 117lbs. dry weight. greg
