    Hi!

I'm planning to disassemble my G50B, clean everything thoroughly, and put it back together with new gaskets.
Do I need a puller, or any other special tools?

    Thanks in advance

You'll need a puller for the flywheel.

Is there a reason for taking it apart? If it's not leaking, making noises or low on compression, you may be better off just cleaning it up and running it, or just replacing just the head gaskets if you want to have a good look at the cylinder walls. If you do disassemble the whole thing, you'll need a ring compressor to get the rings back on, piston pin puller/installer, depth micrometer to set the crank end play, good gasket maker for the crankcase halves (Hondabond works great, don't use RTV), and a good torque wrench that will work on the low end of the scale.

    Good Luck!

I got the heads and cylinders off and the pistons out. I'll split the case tomorrow. Are the main bearings standard size? Or rather something special I'll need to order? Can't find anything online.

      Thanks for your help!

Ok, I got engine disassembled. Had a hell of a time to get the flywheel of. I broke 2 pullers. Third attempt I put heat to it, and it cane lose with a bang. The primary clutch was also PITA. I had to whack it so hard, that it broke. Good news is, only the outer crankshaft bearings have some play. I ordered both. There are two sizes. One is NSK 6203, the other one is 6303. The are about 15-20 bucks on ebay. Now I'll clean all the parts, and put it back together with new seals. Should run anogher 30 years then.
