  • Help adjusting a 27 up Kawasaki

I have an 07 max IV with the 27 hp Kawasaki and need to adjust the part throttle lag out of it. Does anyone know how I do this? It idles fine until u hit the throttle, then it bogs down for a second. If u don't let off the throttle for a moment to allow the motor to catch up it will kill the motor most of the time. It only does it from an idle, never at any other point during the rpm range. Anyone have experience with this?

to me it sounds like you need to increase the engagement rpm of the drive pulley or reduce the shift rate of the CVT.
      Basically, tune the clutch.

Your description doesn't make me think there is a carburetor issue but it could be.

How do I do both of these tasks?

What Clutch does that unit have, stiffer drive clutch spring/springs is the easiest way to raise the engagement rpm.

Id assume it has a factory clutch, i really dont know for sure. I bought it from dedwards, ie...mightymaxiv. I know it does have a red spring

I have found that most of today's engines are extremely lean on the idle circuit , which also controls just off idle transition. if your engine has an adjustable low speed , richen it. if it has an accelerator pump you may need to adjust it linkage for quicker response.
