  • Governor problem

Could someone explain how to adjust the governor on an argo kawasaki fd620d ? It idles nice but when you give it throttle it revs uncontrollably until you blip the throttle and then it idles down . It's too dangerous to drive like that.

That's a loaded question, could be anything from a missing spring to bad gov. assy. or stiff linkage. Post a pic of your set up as there are 2 types and we'll see if we can guide you.

A video may help if you can do that.

kind of hard to understand what you are describing but I can sort of relate. Here's what happened to me:

Riding around one day I went to full throttle to run up a road. When I released the twist throttle it stayed WOT. Yeah, that'll wake ya up.

What I found was that the throttle cable on the twist grip end was pushing the sheath out and it was hanging up WOT. I gave it a squeeze with a pair of pliers and so far it hasn't been an issue but I should probably give it a dab of JB Weld.

Sounds as if the gov. is either slightly moved or gummed up also may be way out of adjustment, the earlier version was later replaced which did help.
A picture or video would really help. meantime check the cable for freeness, check the throttle handle for dirt or hanging up, check the throttle assy. inside handle has not wore the plastic causing a hang up, spray the gov. assy..
Go from there, if you have a manual do the adjustment if possible.
