Briggs and stratton 16hp v twin vanguard engine oil type & capacity

Hi Guys
I am looking at doing an engine service on my Max II it has a B&S 16HP V twin Vanguard engine fitted, looking in the manual it says synthetic 5W-30, what make of oils are you guys using? and cant see the quantity of oil for my engine, it has an oil filter.
Was thinking of using Castrol Magnatec 5w-30 C3 Fully synthetic?any good?

I have never really been too brand loyal when it comes to oil so I'm probably not the best person to answer your Castrol quetsion. As long as it meets the proper certification levels, any synthetic 5W-30 should be fine and it will give you the best operation for all temperature levels compared to an SAE 30. For the capacity, I believe it is 1.5 quarts. I always buy two quarts, pour 1.5 quarts in and check the level. It will be close.
